The Tecnimede Group is one of 12 companies in the pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical sector that co-funds scholarships for its employees who wish to enrol on the “Research and Development of Medicines” (Drugs R&D) doctorate programme at the University of Coimbra.

The Drugs R&D programme is an advanced degree course that was developed in a business environment and is aimed at the pharmaceutical sector, bringing the business and academic worlds closer together. Besides helping company research staff to acquire additional qualifications, it also leverages applied research projects for the development of new processes, technology, and products, thereby creating new business opportunities.

This project was one of those selected under the call for proposals for funding from the Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT) of Portugal and aims to prepare a new generation of qualified professionals who are internationally competitive, engaged in applied research challenges in the area of medicine, benefiting from a fertile and motivational environment resulting from the synergy between the academic world and companies in the pharmaceutical sector.
